One morning, as Gregor Samsa, as waking from a restful sleep, discovered that throughout the night, he had been changed into a woman. Instantly, he pulled his blanket to his chin, embarrassed by his new anatomy. He had always wondered what life would be like as the opposite sec and imagined that if he were female then he would resemble his sister: thin, startlingly beautiful, with delicate features – a doe of a woman. Although, as Gregor traced his hands over his figure, he felt large, greasy mounds of flesh. After getting out of bed, he observed himself in the large mirror byt his window. He saw thin, sun bleached stripes on his stomach and thighs. His breasts were misshapen and swung by his waist. He looked nothing like his sister. He was hideous. He felt utterly useless. Suddenly, laughter popped into his chest and began to burst out of his throat. He had never criticized himself like this before. Fear surfaced in his heart as he realized he had no idea how to dress his new, oppressive shape.
